Congregation B'nai Tikvah
In 1972 Congregation B'nai Tikvah Synagogue was established in Washington Township, Gloucester County. The synagogue currently provides religious services to over 130 families in Gloucester and Camden County.
B'nai Tikvah in Southern New Jersey is a vibrant, welcoming, egalitarian Jewish community. The synagogue conducts Shabbat Services 52 weeks a year and holiday services for all festivals. The synagogue also provides a religious school program from kindergarden through confirmation and adult education classes. There are holiday parties and socials for children and adults. In addition, we have an active men's club and sisterhood. An annual dinner dance is held culminating the accomplishments for the year.
The congregation is governed by a board of trustees elected by the general membership. Monthly board meetings are held and the members are always welcome. General membership meetings are held periodically and all congregants are encouraged to participate on committees. Members are kept abreast of synagogue activities through our newsletter, appropriately named the Shofar, and through personal contact by phone, e-mail or letter.
B'nai Tikvah is active in the community and participates in interfaith services and dialogue to promote harmonious relationships among people of all faiths and nationalities.
