B'nai Tikvah Sisterhood
Sisterhood sponsors monthly events throughout the year, beginning with a membership barbecue each August. Other programs include speakers on Women's and Jewish topics, craft nights, dinners and brunches, trips and more. Members of Sisterhood also lead Friday evening Shabbat services once a year, usually in the spring.
Our Sisterhood is affiliated with the Women's League for Conservative Judaism and also participates in meetings, a yearly conference, and other activities of the Southern New Jersey Branch of Women's League.
Sisterhood Sisterhood also sponsors a challah sale every year preceding the High Holidays, a Passover candy sale in the spring, and other fundraisers during the year and donates a portion of profits to both the Hebrew School and synagogue.
We encourage every woman who is a member of our synagogue or a part of our local Jewish community to join Sisterhood. Please make sure you are on B'nai Tikvah's e-mail list, and remember to read the monthly Sisterhood column in the Shofar, as well as additional mailings sent out in order to keep up-to-date about Sisterhood events scheduled for the upcoming year and check the B'nai Tikvah calendar page.
Sisterhood also holds a weekly Mah Jongg game. Do you know how to play Mah Jongg and would like to begin playing again? Has it been a long time and you miss it? If you have never played Mah Jongg before, would you like to learn how in a friendly and relaxed setting? If so, you are in luck. We play Mah Jongg at B'nai Tikvah almost every Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM. You do not have to be a synagogue member to play, and there is no charge. Plus it is a lot of fun and a great way to meet people. Check the calendar page for any changes especially around Holidays.
