Congregation B'nai Tikvah
Religious School

Welcome to B'nai Tikvah Religious School. Our school encompasses Kindergarten through Ninth grades, with special programming for families, and pre-schoolers throughout the year. Our goal is to teach your child Judaism in the most stimulating manner so that he/she will be motivated to attend classes, services, extra-curricular activities, and live as a concerned and dedicated Jew.

Our teachers are warm, dedicated, highly motivated and educated professionals who make your child feel at home. We have small classes and also offer one on one tutoring during class time, as needed.

Our classes meet as follows:
Kindergarten - 2nd grade: Sundays, 11:45am -1:15pm
3rd grades: Sundays, 11:45am-1:15pm and Wednesday, 4:15-6:15pm
4th grade: Sundays, 9am - 11:30am and Wednesday, 4:15pm-6:15pm
5th, 6th and 7th grades: Sundays, 9am - 11:30am and Tuesdays, 4:15pm - 6:15pm
Confirmation Classes (8th and 9th grades): Tuesday evenings, 7:00pm-9:00pm

Our curriculum includes history, holidays, Hebrew language, prayer knowledge, ethics, laws and customs, Israel, Bible study, and comparative religions. We utilize crafts, music, literature, and current events as a compliment to our studies. Field trips to concerts, nursing homes, museums and other synagogues are scheduled as appropriate. Our tzedakah projects, community service, Tot Shabbats, Junior Congregations and Shabbat services led by our classes are all part of our hands-on approach to learning.

A Jewish Education at B'nai Tikvah is spiritually rewarding and gives your child a common bond with Jews around the world and specifically with those within our community. In this world of ours that emphasizes physical needs and pleasures and instant gratification, we offer the contrast; spiritual fulfillment, a link to the past and future, and a devotion to something that cannot be seen but certainly can be felt.

Our school program encompasses the entire family. We have a student council, youth group, contests, pre-school activities, holiday events, social action, raising money for charitable causes and social activities in and out of the synagogue. All arms of the synagogue work with our school to make these things happen. We gladly welcome new ideas, assistance and participation from grandparents, singles, and couples without school-age children, as well.
